Method of working
Informatie verzamelen
Het illustreren begint met informatie verzamelen over de opdracht. Gericht op de verhaallijn, karakters, kleurgebruik, gewenst materiaal en het inventariseren van eventuele specifieke wensen.
Gathering information
Illustrating starts with gathering information about the assignment. Focused on the storyline, characters, use of color, desired material and an inventory of any specific wishes.
Overeenkomst
Wanneer de opdracht duidelijk is, worden er afspraken gemaakt over o.a. het aantal illustraties, de deadline en betaling. Dit alles wordt schriftelijk vastgelegd in een overeenkomst.
Agreement
When the assignment is clear, agreements are made about the number of illustrations, the deadline and the payment. All of this is recorded in a written agreement.
Schetsfase
In de schetsfase worden de schetsen gemaakt en per schets één voor één naar de opdrachtgever gestuurd voor feedback. Wijzigingen in de schets worden aangebracht op grond van de gegeven feedback.
Studio Small Drawing werkt steeds vaker digitaal. D.w.z. dat de schetsen direct in het tekenprogramma Procreate gemaakt worden.
Sketch phase
In the sketch phase, the sketches are sent one by one to the client for feedback. Changes to the sketch are made based on the feedback given.
Studio Small Drawing is increasingly working digitally. I.e. the sketches are created directly in the drawing program Procreate.
Materiaalverwerking
Nadat alle schetsen definitief zijn wordt het gekozen materiaal erin verwerkt. In deze fase zijn grote aanpassingen aan de illustratie niet meer mogelijk.
Material processing
After all sketches are finalised, the chose material is processed. In this phase major adjustments to the illustrations are not longer possible.
De eindfase
In deze fase worden de illustraties die op papier zijn gemaakt ingescand en gedigitaliseerd. Zo nodig worden grafische elementen toegevoegd. Na betaling krijgt de opdrachtgever de digitale bestanden toegstuurd. Hij/zij heeft daarmee het exclusieve recht om de illustraties te publiceren in de afgesproken uitgave of te gebruiken voor de afgesproken bestemming.
Illustraties die via Procreate worden gemaakt, worden direct als een digitaal bestand aangeleverd.
The final phase
In this phase, the illustrations made on paper are scanned and digitised. If necessary, digital elements are added. After payment, the client will receive the digital files. He/ she thus acquires the exclusive right to publish the illustrations in the agreed edition or to use them for the agreed destination.
Illustrations made via Procreate are delivered directly as a digital file.
